Northwest Bike Trail/Woonasquatucket River Bikeway

The Northwest Bike Trail is an exciting new amenity for City residents.  The bike trail, a 5.3-mile path being constructed by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation will follow the Wonnasquatucket River from North Providence into the heart of downtown Providence.

The Bike Path will run parallel to the Woonasquatucket River and across the Rising Sun Mills property through Donigian Park. More than $4.5 million in federal funding is allocated for the project and construction is scheduled to start in 2004.
