The redevelopment of Rising Sun Mills is part of a larger transformation occurring in the Promenade District of Providence. Already completed or underway are the $400 million Providence Place Mall, the 330-unit 903 luxury apartment complex, the 500,000 square foot Promenade at the Foundry redevelopment, and the 255,000 square foot Eagle Square retail and commercial redevelopment anchored by New England’s ,ost-profitable Price Rite grocery store.

 

Combined with the thriving retail and restaurant scene on Atwells Avenue in neighboring Federal Hill and the revitalization of beautiful Victorian mansions along Broadway, this new wave of development along one of America’s most historic rivers defines the next phase of Providence’s remarkable reinvention.

 

A fundamentally important part of this transformation is the hard work and dedication of the many public, private and non-profit institutions that have collaborated to extend the Providence Renaissance out of Downcity and into its many neighborhoods. The developers of Rising Sun Mills have sought to achieve the mission of "building better communities" through numerous partnerships — with our neighbors, with the City, and most importantly, with the many community agencies working in our neighborhood to elevate the quality of life for its residents.
